Nigerians are reacting to Nollywood actress turned activist Iyabo Ojo’s latest Instagram post regarding the death of fast-rising singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.
Iyabo Ojo shared an old video of her visit to the police to inquire about their stance on Mohbad’s case. In the video, she demanded the singer’s autopsy reports, which the police had promised to update today.
As the two-week timeframe requested by the police came to an end, Iyabo Ojo noted that the “whole world” is eagerly awaiting their statement.
“Good morning, sir, today is exactly 2 weeks. You asked us to give you, you said in your own words that you will get back to us in 2 weeks’ time to update us on the ongoing investigation of Mohbad’s case (Imole) …….. sir, the whole world awaits to hear from you, sir ……….. thank you.
.
@benjaminhundeyin @nigeriapoliceforce we are waiting.”
Nigerians flooded Iyabo Ojo’s comment section, commending her for voicing their concerns and demanding justice. Some expressed concerns that the autopsy results might be tampered with.
Iyabo Ojo’s statement comes after Kemi Olunloyo criticized both the actress and Tonto Dikeh when the latter updated Nigerians about the amount spent on Mohbad’s remains.
Tonto Dikeh revealed that twelve million naira was spent to keep Mohbad in the morgue, claiming they received a discount from the initial fourteen million. Kemi Olunloyo, not pleased with the update, lectured the movie stars on who should be responsible for the singer’s body and accused them of seeking attention by exaggerating the amount spent on Mohbad’s case.
