Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna, known for his candid opinions, has spoken out in the aftermath of the tragic passing of Mohbad. Ogbonna took to social media to share his thoughts and urged Nigerians to reflect on their behavior while seeking justice for the late Mohbad.
He expressed sadness over the fact that some fans demanding justice for Mohbad were the same individuals engaging in online bullying directed at other celebrities. Ogbonna emphasized that bullying, in any form, should not be tolerated, and he called for empathy and understanding.
In his message, he stated, “It’s sad how fans fighting for justice for Mohbad are the same people bullying other celebrities online. We are all against any form of bullying. But the same fans are out there on our timelines bullying every celebrity. Dear fans, a lot of celebrities are living in depression and you are partially responsible. Stop bullying. Stop fueling false stories. Be the light you seek. A plea for empathy.”
IK Ogbonna highlighted the hidden struggles that many celebrities face behind the façade of fame. He pointed out that some celebrities grapple with depression and anxiety in silence, and online bullying only exacerbates their emotional challenges. Ogbonna called for a more compassionate approach, emphasizing that the pursuit of justice should not come at the cost of someone else’s mental well-being.
This statement from Ogbonna serves as a reminder of the importance of treating others with kindness and empathy, especially in the online space where negativity and bullying can have profound consequences.
In a previous interview with Petite Talk Show, IK Ogbonna had shared that he had never formally asked a woman out. He explained that he had always had many female friends throughout his life, and his romantic relationships would naturally develop from these friendships. Ogbonna admitted that he had asked his ex-wife out when he first saw her on Instagram, as he was certain he would marry her. However, he questioned whether this counted as a traditional “asking out” since it was a unique situation in his life.
