Gov Mohammed Clarifies Criticism of Tinubu’s Policies, Emphasizes Constructive Intent

-

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has clarified that his recent critique of certain federal government policies is not politically motivated.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, Governor Mohammed reaffirmed his support for policies that benefit Nigerians while offering constructive feedback on areas requiring improvement.

The governor cited his extensive experience as a former Federal Capital Territory Minister, a two-term governor, and Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum as the basis for his insights into governance and policy-making.

“Governor Bala’s critique of the Tax Reform Bills stems from a commitment to inclusive governance and the understanding that effective reforms require broad-based consultation,” the statement read.

Governor Mohammed also highlighted President Tinubu’s legacy as a pro-democracy advocate and reiterated his respect for the presidency. However, he emphasized that respect in a democracy does not preclude constructive criticism.

The statement further addressed remarks made by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, urging professionalism and diplomacy in public discourse to foster unity and focus on critical national issues.

Governor Mohammed called for collaborative efforts toward addressing Nigeria’s challenges while maintaining respect and accountability in democratic governance.
