Bode George Urges President Tinubu to Reduce Fuel Price to N300 for Festive Season

-

Bode George, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on President Bola Tinubu to reduce the pump price of petrol to N300 per liter from mid-December to the end of January. George believes that this measure would provide relief to Nigerians during the festive season.

In a press conference held in Lagos on Wednesday, George emphasized that December and January are crucial months for people of all faiths, and reducing the cost of petrol would uplift the mood of the nation. He suggested that the government absorb any losses incurred by the price reduction, highlighting the positive impact it would have across various communities.

George also referenced the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu’s N1 billion donation to a university, suggesting that she could similarly contribute to help offset the fuel cost reduction. He argued that such a move would bring happiness to Nigerians, particularly during the holidays.

This proposal comes amidst concerns from petroleum marketers, who have warned that the price of fuel could rise to as much as N900 or N1,000 per liter during the holiday season.

George’s appeal reflects a growing desire for government action that would foster national unity and provide financial relief to ordinary Nigerians during a period of celebration. With the current economic challenges, such a decision could significantly impact the public’s well-being, ensuring a more joyful festive period across the country.
