The police confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Tuesday by ASP Mansir Hassan, the Command’s spokesperson.

On October 8, a police surveillance team from Kasuwan Mata Police Division conducted a successful operation in a brothel on Nupe Street, Zaria, leading to the arrest of 35-year-old Adamu Yahaya, who was found with a locally fabricated pistol, a live cartridge, and handcuffs. A subsequent investigation is underway.

The same day, another police team from Barnawa Division intercepted two armed robbery suspects, Andrew Emmanuel and Mendwas Peter Bulus, during a stop-and-search operation. Items recovered from them included a service pistol, two phones, and suspected Indian hemp. Both suspects confessed to their involvement in armed robbery.

Additionally, on December 9, police officers, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended three suspects on the Kano-Kaduna Expressway. They were found in possession of over 200 rounds of live ammunition. The suspects are identified as Buhari Suleiman, Jamil Yakubu, and Aliyu Abdullahi.

On December 10, police responded to an attack by suspected bandits in the Tudu Gishere area. A gunfight ensued, resulting in the neutralization of one bandit, while the others fled with gunshot wounds.
