North-Central APC Forum Accuses SGF of Lopsided Appointments, Threatens Protests

-

The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has accused Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, of favoring his Tiv kinsmen in appointments, claiming the SGF has sidelined other regions of the North-Central.

Chairman Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, in a statement on Tuesday, clarified that these allegations stem from complaints by local stakeholders. The Forum highlighted a statement from the Zone A Peoples Assembly (ZAPA), which criticized Akume for appointing his cousin, Dr. Tyover Dajo, as Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, and allegedly neglecting broader representation from the region.

The SGF’s spokesperson, Terrence Kuanum, had dismissed these claims, labeling them as mischief. However, the North-Central APC Forum contended that their criticisms are rooted in legitimate concerns for regional inclusivity.

Zazzaga stressed that unless Akume’s leadership approach changes to better represent the North-Central, the Forum would escalate their efforts with protests and further evidence to demand action, even calling for the SGF’s removal.
