The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, branding him a “habitual complainer.” This statement follows Obi’s remarks regarding the recent Edo State governorship election, which resulted in the victory of APC candidate Monday Okpebholo.
Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, expressed these views during an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday. He accused Obi of consistently refusing to accept electoral outcomes that do not favor him or his candidates.
“Peter Obi is a serial complainer who will not accept the result of any election that is not in his favor or for candidates he supports,” Morka stated.
He dismissed Obi’s concerns about the Edo election results, asserting that they lack relevance. “Since the 2023 election, Obi has been in consistent denial. His recent objections to the Edo election are completely irrelevant,” he added.
Morka emphasized that if Obi’s associates, Akpata and Ighodalo, are dissatisfied with the election outcome, they should seek legal recourse to present their claims in court rather than making unsubstantiated allegations in public.
Following the announcement of the Edo election results, Obi criticized the process, describing it as a “blatant example of state capture” that undermines Nigeria’s democratic principles. He warned that such flawed leadership selection methods could lead to serious consequences for the country and urged authorities to address these issues.
