Gboyega Isiaka, the representative for Yewa North/Imeko-Afon federal constituency in the House of Representatives, was honored yesterday with the 2024 Michael Okpara Leadership Award.
The award recognized Isiaka for his exceptional performance and dedication as a member of the House of Representatives, where he is known for providing exemplary representation to his constituency. He has earned a reputation for his transparency, accessibility, and proactive stance on national issues.
Other distinguished individuals were also nominated in various categories of the Michael Okpara Leadership Awards.
The Ogun State-born technocrat has demonstrated his patriotism, integrity, and deep knowledge of legislative affairs. His expertise and trustworthiness recently led to his selection as part of the committee tasked with investigating the Nigerian National Petroleum Company.
In response to receiving the award, Isiaka expressed that his nomination was expected, though he expressed gratitude to the selection committee for their diligence in recognizing excellence.
“I am pleased that my service to my constituents and to Nigeria has been acknowledged by the organizers of the Michael Okpara Leadership Award. I believe it is the duty of politicians to bring relief to their people and contribute to national progress. I am glad that my efforts in this regard have been duly recognized,” he stated.
