The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that successful candidates from the 2022 police recruitment exercise are scheduled to begin their training tomorrow, Saturday, August 9, at various police colleges nationwide.
The training period will run from August 10 to August 20, according to a statement issued by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations for the PSC, in Abuja. Candidates who have confirmed their status via the police recruitment portal (https://apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng) are expected to report for training.
“The names of the candidates have already been forwarded to the management of the colleges, and only those listed will be admitted for training,” the statement read.
The commission clarified that the previous recruitment portal (www.policeservicecommission.cloud) has been discontinued following discussions with police management. It was agreed that the portal used from the start of the recruitment process would remain active until its conclusion to ensure fairness and inclusivity.
Only candidates whose names appear on the designated portal or who have received official invitations will be permitted to begin training. Additionally, messages are being sent to successful candidates, including Specialists, who are scheduled to report between September 28 and October 10, 2024.
PSC Chairman Hashimu Argungu, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), urged the candidates to report to their respective colleges on the specified dates. He emphasized that the commission will monitor their progress throughout the training to ensure they are well-prepared to serve the nation and contribute to combating banditry and terrorism.
