Ruth Eze Calls Out Fake Love and Hypocrisy in Nollywood

-

Nollywood actress Ruth Eze recently took to Instagram to voice her frustration with the “fake love” and “fakeness” she says is rampant in the industry. In her post, Ruth questioned why some people publicly celebrate those they criticize in private, expressing disbelief at the extent of insincerity she perceives among her peers. She wrote, “The level of fakeness and fake love in Nollywood ehn. Jesus, have mercy… How do u guys do this thing? I can’t even fake a smile.”

Ruth’s post joins a chorus of similar complaints from other celebrities. Actor Kevin Ikeduba has previously criticized Nollywood for harboring “fake people,” while musician Cynthia Morgan once called out the music industry for its lack of genuine friendships, noting how only a few supported her during a personal crisis. Similarly, rapper Terry G shared his disappointment when his calls for help were ignored by his industry peers.

Eze’s candid reflections highlight an ongoing conversation about authenticity and support in the entertainment industry, with several stars urging for more genuine connections among colleagues.
