The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two high-profile suspects in connection with the recent killings in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. These arrests are part of ongoing investigations into the violence that has claimed numerous lives in the region.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, condemned the attacks as “senseless, utterly reprehensible, and a grave assault on national peace and security.” He expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and emphasized the commitment of the police to uncover the motives behind the attacks and apprehend all those involved.
To bolster security efforts, the IGP has directed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, Kwazhi Dali Yakubu, to oversee all police operations in Plateau State. This includes leading aerial surveillance missions over affected areas and engaging with local stakeholders to build confidence and restore peace.
The police have also initiated on-the-ground assessments to determine strategic deployment of additional personnel and resources aimed at preventing further violence and ensuring the safety of residents.
