Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has condemned the recent attacks in Plateau State, urging authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice. Expressing deep sorrow over the assault on the Zike community in Bassa Local Government Area—which resulted in 51 deaths and significant property destruction—Kwankwaso highlighted the alarming pattern of violence, noting that over fifty individuals were killed across five communities within a week.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining the relative peace Plateau State has enjoyed in recent years and called on the federal government to fulfill its responsibility of protecting lives and property. Kwankwaso also extended his condolences to the government and people of Plateau State, advocating for the promotion of peace throughout the region.
