Osun APC Vows to End Adeleke’s Reign in 2026, Says Spokesman

-

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has warned Governor Ademola Adeleke to brace for an electoral defeat in 2026. This statement came from the Osun APC’s Director of Media, Kola Olabisi, in response to claims by Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would maintain control of the state indefinitely due to Adeleke’s achievements.

Bisi made his remarks during a monthly interactive session hosted by the League of Veteran Journalists in Osogbo. He highlighted Adeleke’s accomplishments, including the payment of workers’ salaries and pensions, ongoing infrastructure projects, and the administration’s overall positive impact on the state. Bisi also dismissed allegations of favoritism towards Adeleke’s kinsmen from Ede in state governance, arguing that the family has been inclusive and beneficial to Osun’s development.

In his response, Olabisi expressed confidence that the APC would reclaim power in the 2026 governorship election, criticizing Bisi’s statement as arrogant. He drew parallels to past overconfident remarks made by PDP leaders, which preceded electoral defeats, both at the national level and in Osun State, citing former Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s victory as an example.

Olabisi’s comments reflect the growing political tension in Osun as both parties gear up for the next electoral cycle.
