An unidentified adult male driver has been confirmed dead following a multiple truck accident on Kara Bridge, Lagos State, early on Wednesday morning.
According to a statement from the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Nosa Okunbor, the incident occurred at 4:26 AM. The accident involved a truck loaded with steel coils and a 40-foot container that was separated from its truck head.
The LASEMA response team’s investigation revealed that the driver of the articulated truck lost control while trying to avoid a collision with the 40-foot container, causing the truck to tip over. This led to the cargo, consisting of steel coils, spilling onto the road.
Okunbor further confirmed that the unidentified driver succumbed to injuries and his body had been removed before the LASEMA team arrived. The agency’s response team is currently overseeing the recovery operation and working to clear the road of the debris to restore normal traffic flow.
