The Bassa community in Shiroro Local Government Area, Niger State, has expressed profound gratitude to the Nigerian Airforce and special hunters for their successful operation against Boko Haram insurgents. Last week’s action, which resulted in the elimination of 28 militants, has been hailed as a significant relief for the community, which has faced severe attacks, including the killing of 38 members in August alone.
In a statement signed by Isiyaku Director, the leader of the Youth movement in Bassa, the community also praised Senator Sani Musa for his dedicated efforts in enhancing security. The senator’s proactive measures and collaboration with security forces are credited with bringing hope and improved safety to the region.
The statement called on the government and security agencies to maintain their offensive against the insurgents. Peace is gradually returning to Bassa and Allawa communities with the deployment of the Joint Security Taskforce, which includes special hunters and local vigilantes.
The community remains hopeful that continued efforts will restore lasting peace and stability in the region.
