The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has issued a warning to the public to disregard a circulating list of purported beneficiaries of its Youth Internship Scheme, labeling it as fake.
In a statement, NDDC’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson-Wakama, condemned the false information, noting that those behind the scam are also demanding personal information and acceptance fees from unsuspecting individuals.
Thompson-Wakama clarified that the official list of beneficiaries is yet to be finalized and will be drawn from the NDDC’s official database. He emphasized that the commission does not require any payment for participation in its internship program and urged the public to seek information only from NDDC’s official channels.
The statement reassured stakeholders of the commission’s commitment to transparency and fairness in its youth empowerment initiatives, while urging caution against scammers attempting to exploit eager job seekers.
