ICYMI: Starlink Hikes Subscription Rates Amid Inflation

-

Satellite internet provider Starlink has announced an increase in its monthly subscription rates, effective immediately for new customers and beginning October 31, 2024, for existing users.

In a message sent to customers on Tuesday, Starlink revealed that its standard residential package will now cost ₦75,000. The mobile regional (roam unlimited) package is set at ₦167,000, while the mobile global (global roam) package will be priced at ₦717,000.

The company attributed the price hike to “excessive levels of inflation,” stating that the adjustment is necessary to align service fees with prevailing economic conditions.

“Your monthly service price will increase in one month, starting from 31 October 2024. For new customers, the price increase takes effect immediately,” the message stated.

Starlink assured customers that they can cancel their service at any time without incurring any penalties, should they wish to opt out of the new rates.
