The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has urged Muslims not to delay paying Zakat until they accumulate millions of naira. MUSWEN President, Rasaki Oladejo, emphasized the importance of timely Zakat payment during a press conference in Ibadan, Oyo State. He explained that Zakat, the third pillar of Islam, plays a vital role in alleviating poverty and should be paid promptly, regardless of the amount of wealth one has.
Oladejo stressed that Zakat helps bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, urging governments to implement policies that address poverty and social issues. He also noted that many Islamic organizations are using the Zakat they collect to reduce poverty in communities across the country.
