Saratu Gidado, a veteran actress in the Kannywood film industry affectionately known as Daso, has sadly departed.
The news of her passing, announced via local radio stations in Kano, has deeply saddened the entertainment community in the state.
Daso peacefully passed away in her sleep during the early hours of Tuesday, following the pre-dawn meal before the start of the day’s Ramadan fast (Sahur).
With a career spanning over 18 years, Daso was a respected figure in the Hausa film industry, captivating audiences with her exceptional performances and diverse roles. Prior to her acting career, she dedicated herself to teaching.
Her sudden demise has left fans and colleagues mourning the loss of a beloved talent. As preparations for her funeral, slated for 4:00pm, are underway, tributes continue to pour in from across the entertainment sphere.
