-

The Libya National Team has begun preparations for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Nigeria. The Mediterranean Knights resumed training on Monday in Tripoli, under new coach Nasser Al-Hadhiri, alongside assistants Akram Al-Hammami and Aboubaker Harak.

The team is scheduled to arrive in Abuja on October 7 before heading to Uyo for the crucial clash against the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on October 11, 2025.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s coach Augustine Eguavoen has yet to announce his squad for the doubleheader, with the return leg set for October 15 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi.

Nigeria currently leads Group D with four points after a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a goalless draw with Rwanda. Libya trails with one point after drawing against Rwanda and losing to Benin Republic.
