Adewale Adeleke, the older brother of Afrobeat sensation Davido, appears to have indirectly confirmed the reports of him and his wife, Chioma, welcoming twins.
News of the twins’ arrival broke earlier today, gaining momentum as Davido hinted at his wife becoming a “Maba Ibeji” (mother of twins) in one of his songs on his album, “Timeless.”
In a track titled ‘In The Garden,’ featuring Morravey, Davido’s lyrics included the phrase, “Abi mo meji, mama Ibeji,” seemingly alluding to the twin news.
Adding to the speculation, Davido tweeted on Sunday, expressing that this week would be the best week of his life.
Adewale Adeleke joined in, expressing gratitude to God via a cryptic tweet, though he didn’t explicitly mention the reason for his thanksgiving, simply stating, “We Thank God.”
Nigerian clergyman, Pastor Gospel Agochukwu of Shekinah Arena International Ministries, confirmed the twins’ birth. On his Facebook page, he extended congratulations to the couple for their new additions. He shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message that acknowledged his previous prophecy from last year, predicting that the couple would welcome twins—a boy and a girl at 9 p.m., although the exact date wasn’t disclosed.
It’s worth noting that the clergyman had previously revealed a divine promise foreseeing that Davido and Chioma would indeed have twins.
If these reports hold true, the arrival of twins would bring joy to the couple after they tragically lost their first child, a baby boy, at the age of 3.
