Nigerian rapper and actor Falz has revealed that he once lived a double life, practicing law by day and pursuing his passion for music by night. Speaking on The Madam Joyce Podcast, the artist, whose real name is Folarin Falana, shared his experiences juggling two contrasting careers.
Falz recounted a humorous yet challenging moment in court when a judge questioned his dual career. “When I announced my appearance in court, the judge lowered his glasses and asked, ‘Counsel, are you not the one doing something else on the side?’” he said, highlighting the strict professional conduct rules that discourage lawyers from engaging in other activities while practicing law.
He admitted that managing both roles was not easy but expressed pride in how he transitioned fully into the entertainment industry.
Falz’s story exemplifies his journey from a legal practitioner to becoming one of Nigeria’s celebrated entertainers, showcasing his determination to follow his passion while navigating professional boundaries.
