Ondo Guber Election: PDP Calls It INEC’s Worst Performance

-

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned Saturday’s Ondo State governorship election, describing it as the worst in the history of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, issued a statement in Abuja on Sunday, asserting that the election fell short of expectations for a free, fair, and credible process.

“The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP will conduct a detailed review of the election and its outcome and take necessary action to safeguard democracy,” Ologunagba stated.

The PDP accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of electoral malpractice, including vote buying and manipulation. According to the statement, these actions undermined the democratic aspirations of Ondo State’s citizens.

“This election witnessed blatant vote buying and election merchandising by the APC and its apparatus. Such practices threaten the survival of Nigeria’s democracy,” Ologunagba said.

The PDP also called on Nigerians and the international community to address these issues urgently.

This reaction comes amid an internal crisis within the PDP, with stakeholders voicing concerns about leadership and party performance in recent elections.
