Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, presented a proposed budget of N678.86 billion for 2025 to the State House of Assembly. Titled the “Budget of Economic Stabilisation,” it reflects a 35% increase from the previous year. Governor Makinde allocated N349.29 billion (50.59%) for capital expenditure and N325.57 billion (49.41%) for recurrent expenses.
The budget focuses on infrastructure, which receives the highest allocation of N152.26 billion (22.46%), followed by education at N145.26 billion (21.44%), health at N59 billion (9%), and agriculture at N18 billion (3%).
Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin pledged the Assembly’s support, emphasizing swift legislative action for effective project implementation in 2025.
