Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe is overwhelmed with joy as her debut cinema movie, Ada Omo Daddy, has received 10 nominations. Sharing the news on her Instagram page, she expressed her gratitude and excitement for the recognition.
The nominations for Ada Omo Daddy include Director of the Year, Best Actress, Best Costume, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actress, Best Kiss, Best Sound, Best Social Message, Best Editing, and Best Use of Food. Aigbe wrote, “Super grateful and honored to be recognized for TEN (10) award nominations @bon_awards for ADA OMO DADDY.”
She extended her appreciation to the amazing cast and crew who contributed to the film’s success, stating, “Biggest shout out to the amazing cast and crew for making this possible. All My Love, M.A.A.”
Ada Omo Daddy, which premiered in December 2023, was well-received by audiences, grossing an impressive ₦180.7 million and becoming the third highest-grossing film in the country. This achievement positions Aigbe alongside other notable filmmakers in Nollywood, including Omoni Oboli and Funke Akindele.
Aigbe’s husband, Kazim Adeoti, expressed pride in her accomplishments, praising her resilience, creativity, and vision. He reaffirmed his love for her and celebrated her achievements.
