Pastor Lydia Idoko, widow of the former Chief Judge of Benue State, Justice Alhassan Idoko, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to ensure his economic reforms take the welfare of Nigerians into consideration. Speaking at a women’s conference in Makurdi on Tuesday, Idoko expressed concern over the growing hardship in the country and urged the president to seek divine guidance while addressing the nation’s challenges.
“Nigerians have never cried like this before. I encourage our leaders to listen to the cry of the masses,” Idoko said. She highlighted the need for reforms to be implemented with empathy, reminding the president that leaders are remembered for both the problems they create and the ones they solve.
Idoko also called on those advising the president to prioritize the needs of the less privileged, warning that leaders will one day return to face the same people they once governed. She urged spiritual revival and encouraged women to trust in God’s plan during these tough times, emphasizing the importance of patience and collective prayer for national healing.
