Nollywood actress Toyin Adegbola, popularly known as Toyin Tomato, has urged women to avoid divorce, even when dealing with unfaithful husbands. During an Instagram live session on Monday, the actress argued that equality doesn’t exist in marriage and encouraged women to remain in their marriages, regardless of their husbands’ infidelity.
Toyin Tomato advised women to take precautions to protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases but to avoid leaving their husbands. She shared a story about a friend who buys condoms for her husband when he visits Nigeria, suggesting that this helps maintain the relationship.
“No matter how difficult your husband is, don’t think of leaving him. Later, you may regret it during important family events. Women should endure in their marriages, as finding another husband after leaving can be challenging,” she said.
Toyin Tomato also emphasized the unequal dynamics between men and women in marriage, stating, “We don’t have equal rights, and I will continue to say this. Men should see us as their cross to bear, and women should treat their husbands like their first child.”
