The family of the late musician Mohbad has made a public appeal for individuals with pertinent information regarding the singer’s death to come forward. This call for witnesses comes amid concerns that sensitive details about Mohbad’s death have been disseminated on social media, potentially undermining the investigation.
Monisola Esther, a spokesperson for the family’s legal team, addressed the issue in a statement on Monday. She expressed frustration that critical information, which should have been shared directly with the police, was instead leaked to the public. Esther emphasized the need for this information to be properly channeled to law enforcement to assist in the investigation.
“Given the nature of the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba and the information being released to the public space which ordinarily should have been given to the Police, the Aloba Family’s Legal Team wishes to advise that anyone with useful and relevant information that could aid in the search for and the circumstances leading to the singer’s death should reach out to the Legal Team to facilitate proper legal connectivity,” Esther said.
The legal team is also urging individuals to contact the police directly to ensure that witnesses and suspects are protected during the investigation. Additionally, the coroner’s inquest has issued witness summonses for those who are considered relevant to the case.
Esther further clarified that Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, is focused solely on uncovering the truth behind his son’s death rather than engaging in personal disputes. “Please, note that Joseph Aloba does not seek to pursue any personal relationships at this point. His interest is focused on finding out the details of what happened to his dear son and the circumstances that led to his untimely demise,” she stated.
The family and legal team are urging that all relevant information be disclosed in the appropriate legal forums, such as the Coroner’s Court, to aid in a thorough and transparent investigation.
