President Bola Tinubu has touched down in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, for a three-day official visit at the request of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. He arrived at Malabo International Airport at 2:07 pm local time, where he was welcomed by Prime Minister Manuela Roka Botey.
During the visit, the two leaders will engage in bilateral discussions, focusing on cooperation in oil, gas, and security. This will be followed by the signing of several key agreements in these sectors. After their private meeting, a press statement will be released, and the day will conclude with a formal dinner.
President Tinubu’s delegation includes notable officials such as Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Defense Minister Abubakar Badaru, and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) Ekperikpe Ekpo. Additionally, Attorney-General Lateef Fagbemi, Minister of Youth Development Jamila Ibrahim-Bio, and the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, are part of the entourage. The business community is also represented, with Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu, GCEO of Matrix Group, among those accompanying the President.
