In a demonstration of unwavering support, key officials from the Federal Ministry of Sports Development paid a visit to the D’Tigress basketball team, their coaching staff, and Nigerian Basketball Federation President Musa Kidda on August 6.
The visit, led by Permanent Secretary Mrs. Tinuke Watti and Acting Director of FEADS Mr. Olumide Bamiduro, was intended to boost the morale of the team as they prepared for their quarterfinal match against Team USA on August 7.
Minister of Sports and Development John Enoh shared the news on X.com, highlighting the delegation’s aim to inspire the players and staff. The statement noted, “Our visit was to uplift and encourage D’Tigress as they gear up for their crucial game today. Alongside Mrs. Tinuke Watti and Mr. Olumide Bamiduro, we met with the players, coach, and technical crew, as well as President Musa Kidda.”
D’Tigress has already made a significant impact at the Paris Olympics, defeating top FIBA teams to reach the quarterfinals and making history for both Africa and Nigeria. The country eagerly anticipates their matchup against Team USA, which is expected to be a thrilling contest.
Minister Enoh wished the team success and urged the nation to continue their support and encouragement.
