In her heartfelt message, Damasus reveals how her heart literally stopped when she lost him, but for the sake of their daughters, it had to start beating again. Despite the enduring pain of his absence, she acknowledges the strength he instilled in them.
Describing him as her lifetime lover and angel, she expresses the ongoing difficulty of each passing year without him but holds onto the promise of a reunion.
“19 years gone. My JAY, My Jaibad, my teddy bear, my lover, my king, husband of my youth, my knight in shining armor, my gist partner, my teacher, my padi, my heartbeat, father of my children. My heart literally stopped when I lost you. But it had to start beating again for the sake of the girls. We all miss you so much but we are strong just like you taught us to be. You are my angel. Following Jaiye Aboderin’s death, Stella Damasus married Daniel Ademinokan, but their union ended in 2020. Reflecting on their divorce, she advised women to pay attention to red flags and avoid rushing into marriage, expressing the initial belief that Ademinokan was her soulmate with a similar mindset.
