Umahi Clears Self and Tinubu of Blame on Road Distribution Shortfall

-

Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has defended both himself and President Bola Tinubu regarding the challenges in road distribution across Nigeria. During a visit to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Umahi emphasized that the current administration inherited the road distribution issues and is actively working to address them.

He highlighted the inclusion of a new legacy project, spanning from Akwanga to Jos and Bauchi, as part of President Tinubu’s efforts to rectify the situation. Umahi also mentioned that the president is focused on securing funding for these projects through various mechanisms, including a forthcoming visit to China to revive previous financing agreements.

The minister also visited several flood-damaged road sections in Kano, Maiduguri, and Bauchi, assuring affected communities that timely interventions would be provided. Governor Bala Mohammed praised the federal government’s swift response and commitment to addressing the state’s infrastructure challenges during this difficult time.
