The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration for alleged mismanagement of state resources, accusing the government of underperformance despite substantial financial inflows.
Speaking during Adeleke’s second anniversary celebration in Osogbo, APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi claimed that between January 2023 and September 2024, the state received over N385 billion from federal allocations, internally generated revenue (IGR), and grants such as N4.3 billion from UBEC and N1.3 billion from TETFUND for education infrastructure.
Olabisi alleged that despite these funds, the Adeleke administration failed to deliver impactful projects, accusing the governor of neglecting key economic sectors while significantly increasing allocations to his office.
“In 2022, Osun State received N73 billion in federal allocation before debt deductions. By September 2024, this figure had risen to N153 billion, far exceeding the projected N99 billion for the year,” Olabisi stated.
The APC demanded greater transparency in expenditure and urged the government to account for its financial decisions. It warned that alleged inefficiency in managing state resources could hinder Osun’s growth and development.
Governor Adeleke is yet to officially respond to these allegations.
