The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has appointed Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security. This appointment aligns with the government’s aim to secure a stable and sustainable energy supply for Nigeria. The newly created Directorate of Energy Security will focus on coordinating policies, protecting infrastructure, managing data, providing risk advisory, and forming strategic alliances within the energy sector.
With over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, especially in the Niger Delta, Amachree is well-positioned to oversee national energy security initiatives. His role will involve working closely with government agencies, security organizations, energy regulators, international partners, and local communities to address Nigeria’s short- and long-term energy needs.
Amachree’s appointment reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s energy security and resilience. National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu congratulated Amachree on his new role, emphasizing the importance of strengthening Nigeria’s energy infrastructure and supply chain.
