NUJ Enugu Stakeholders Applaud Isiguzo’s Leadership as Yahaya Takes Over

-

The Enugu State stakeholders of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) have commended Comrade Chris Isiguzo, the immediate past National President of the union, for his outstanding leadership during his two successful tenures.

In a statement signed by prominent members of the union, the stakeholders praised Isiguzo for elevating journalism as a respectable profession in Nigeria and leaving behind a legacy of integrity. They highlighted his exemplary leadership, dedication, and commitment, noting that he ended his tenure “without any negative report.”

The statement lauded Isiguzo’s role in conducting a free and fair election during the 8th Triennial National Delegates Conference in Owerri, Imo State. This process ensured a smooth transition of power to his successor, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya Abdullahi.

“We have been rating you very highly for your leadership, even during your service as National Vice President, Zone C (South East). The seamless Owerri election was a testament to the positive legacies you have left for the union,” the stakeholders stated.

The group also extended warm congratulations to Comrade Yahaya on his assumption of office as the new National President. They expressed their willingness to collaborate with him to advance the union’s interests and wished him a successful tenure.

As Enugu State prepares for its NUJ elections in February 2025, the stakeholders remain optimistic about maintaining the union’s legacy of professionalism and effective leadership.
