Fulham manager Marco Silva has praised Alex Iwobi for his standout performance in the team’s 3-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday night at Craven Cottage.
Iwobi opened the scoring early, capitalizing on a mistake by Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, and later sealed the game with a second goal just three minutes before the final whistle.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been in stellar form, contributing three goals and two assists in his last four Premier League appearances for Fulham.
“Alex has been outstanding from the first day of pre-season. He is in a happy place and he is a fantastic footballer,” Silva said during his post-match interview with the BBC.
Silva further highlighted Iwobi’s versatility and growth, noting:
“Last season was his best season in the Premier League, and one or two months ago, I said he would be even better in this one. He’s a top player with the way he can assist and score goals more than ever. What a game for him—he deserved all the credit.”
The win propelled Fulham to sixth place in the Premier League standings, with Silva expressing confidence in the team’s momentum as they prepare for their next match.
