Kaduna Bethel Student Freed After Two Years in Kidnapping Ordeal

-

The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, expressed immense joy over the release of Treasure Ayuba, the last remaining kidnapped student from Bethel Baptist High School, who had been in captivity since 2021.

In July 2021, a group of bandits kidnapped 121 Bethel Students from their hostel in Maraban Damishi, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Over time, the students were released in stages following the payment of specific ransoms, but Treasure Ayuba remained in captivity despite numerous efforts to secure his release.

However, he was finally released a few days ago.

Governor Uba Sani, in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, expressed gratitude to the Almighty for divine intervention and extended his thanks to all individuals and institutions that had tirelessly worked and prayed for Treasure Ayuba’s safe return.

The Governor also assured that the State Government would continue to provide the necessary support to security agencies to ensure the safety and security of Kaduna State schools.

Treasure Ayuba, the released student, has now been joyfully reunited with his family.
