Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has highlighted the crucial role played by President Bola Tinubu in his successful re-election in the state’s gubernatorial election.
Following his declaration as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election, Governor Uzodimma expressed gratitude in Owerri, the state capital. He urged his major contenders, Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party and Athan Achonu of the Labour Party, to collaborate in advancing the state.
Uzodimma stated, “I am humbled and honored by your overwhelming support in yesterday’s election. Your trust in me to continue leading our dear state is both inspiring and deeply appreciated.”
Acknowledging the victory achieved together, he reassured the people of his commitment to fulfilling the promises made during the campaign. He emphasized that the administration would prioritize the interests of the citizens as they embark on the “Next Level of Shared Prosperity.”
Calling for unity among political contenders, Uzodimma extended a hand to candidates from other parties, emphasizing the inclusive governance that transcends political differences for the benefit of all.
He expressed profound gratitude to his team, the party, and every citizen of Imo for their unwavering support, acknowledging the state’s progress due to collective efforts.
Governor Uzodimma commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a fair and neutral electoral process, along with the dedication of security agencies in maintaining peace during the exercise.
