Ganduje Predicts APC Victory in Edo and Southeastern States

-

Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed confidence that his party will secure victory in the upcoming Governorship Elections in Edo State scheduled for September 21, 2024.

In a recent discussion with members of the Kano Correspondent Chapel of the NUJ, Ganduje stated, “We are optimistic about our campaign for Edo. We believe we will regain control of the state, which was previously under APC but was lost to the PDP due to internal issues.”

Ganduje also touched on the APC’s situation in Ondo State, asserting that it remains an APC stronghold. He noted that despite challenges following the former governor’s death, the party successfully addressed these issues and conducted effective primaries.

Looking ahead, Ganduje emphasized the importance of the upcoming elections, particularly in Edo and the November election in Ondo. He indicated that a win in Edo would increase the APC’s control to 21 states out of 36.

He also mentioned the party’s strategy for the Southeast, focusing on Anambra State, which has been governed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for years. Ganduje criticized claims of marginalization from both the North and Southeast, suggesting that such marginalization is self-created and pointing to the APC’s efforts to expand its influence in the region.

“We are working hard to capture more states in the Southeast, starting with Anambra. We already hold Ebonyi and Imo states, and our goal is to expand our presence further in the region,” Ganduje concluded.
