Former England international Paul Gascoigne has expressed his desire for Sir Alex Ferguson to make a return to Manchester United for “one more season.” Gascoigne’s comments come as current manager Erik ten Hag faces mounting pressure due to the team’s disappointing performance this season.
In an interview with SportsCasting, Gascoigne reflected on the challenges faced by Ten Hag, noting, “I feel sorry for him a bit. Following in Ferguson’s footsteps is no easy task. Even Jose Mourinho and David Moyes struggled after him.”
Gascoigne suggested that Ferguson’s experience and leadership could reignite the squad’s potential, stating, “I would love to see what Ferguson could do with these players, as I think some of them take the p*** out of Ten Hag.”
As Ten Hag’s position grows more precarious, the football community continues to speculate on the future direction of Manchester United.
