Gubernatorial aspirant and Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has asserted that the people of Edo State desire an action-oriented governor, emphasizing his strong connection with them. In response to allegations during an interview on Arise TV’s program “The Morning Show,” Shaibu refuted claims of betrayal against Governor Obaseki and dismissed accusations of ineligibility based on his shared origin with Oshiomhole. He expressed a sense of betrayal from recent actions taken against him by the governor, estimating a political capital loss in Edo North due to his unwavering support for Obaseki. Shaibu outlined comprehensive plans for infrastructural development, economic growth, and job creation, underscoring his commitment to ethical governance. Despite funding challenges in his campaign, he expressed confidence in gaining momentum and delivering the positive change desired by the electorate.
