Former Senator Dino Melaye has been suspended from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to allegations of misconduct and anti-party activities. The decision was made by the PDP executive committee in Ayetoro Gbede, Ward 1, after Melaye allegedly failed to respond to a summon.
The suspension followed a resolution by the Ward committee during a meeting to review the findings of a disciplinary panel investigating the accusations against him.
In a statement signed by Ward Chairman Abayomi Osamika and Secretary Yodson Dayo, the party declared that Melaye’s actions had brought embarrassment to the party, making his continued membership untenable. The suspension was enforced under Article 59 (1) of the PDP constitution, allowing the party’s ward executives to take disciplinary action against members.
