In a tragic turn of events in Warri, Delta State, the police have arrested Emmanuel Umukoro on allegations of murdering his mother, Mrs. Fatima Umukoro, a respected school proprietress. The incident reportedly took place late Saturday night, leaving the local community in shock.
Neighbors described the scene as gruesome, with one eyewitness, identified as Umoh, recounting how the unusual sight of the residence’s open gate around 10 p.m. raised concerns. Upon entering the house, they discovered the horrific sight of Mrs. Umukoro’s charred remains.
Suspicion quickly fell on Emmanuel, who had been seen earlier that evening speeding away in his mother’s car. His erratic behavior led to his arrest by the police as he attempted to flee along the Sapele-Warri Road.
