The Nigerian Baptist Convention has expressed sorrow over the tragic killing of nine of its members in Plateau State during a Christmas Eve attack by gunmen. The victims were part of the congregation at Nasara Baptist Church in the Dares community, Bokkos LGA.
Survivor Ishaya Moses shared the devastating details during a visit by the President of Plateau Baptist Conference, Rev. K.K. Saleh. Moses revealed that after the attack, the assailants callously celebrated by turning on the church generator.
Malan Maju, another member who lost his wife and son, reported that the victims received a mass burial. Rev. Saleh, shocked by the extent of destruction, criticized the prevailing insecurity in the country, urging people to remain resilient.
While extending heartfelt condolences, Saleh pleaded for restraint, advising against retaliation. He emphasized the need for unity and called on the youth to avoid destructive behaviors, urging them to listen to their parents and the church during this difficult time.
