APC Denies Suspension of Senator Binani, Plans Action Against Fake News Spreaders

-

The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted claims that Senator Aishatu Ahmed (Binani), its 2023 governorship candidate, has been suspended from the party.

In a statement issued Thursday evening, APC State Publicity Secretary Mohammed Abdullahi labeled the report as fake and orchestrated by individuals unhappy with ongoing reconciliation efforts led by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser (NSA), and Mustapha Salihu, the APC National Vice Chairman for the North East.

“The leadership of Yola South Local Government Area has confirmed in writing that no such suspension has occurred, making the story completely fabricated and mischievous,” the statement read.

The state party chairman, Idris Shuaibu, reaffirmed that Senator Binani remains a valued member and stakeholder of the party. The national vice chairman has ordered a thorough investigation to identify those responsible for spreading the false report, promising disciplinary action to prevent future incidents of party destabilization.

This is not the first time Senator Binani has faced rumors of suspension. Similar allegations surfaced during her 2023 gubernatorial campaign, which were also swiftly debunked by the party leadership.

The APC remains committed to resolving internal disputes and uniting its members in Adamawa State ahead of future political engagements.
