Anthony Joshua has been banned from boxing for the next 28 days after suffering a brutal knockout at the hands of Daniel Dubois last week. The heavyweight clash took place at Wembley Stadium, where Joshua was defeated in the fifth round in front of 96,000 spectators.
During the fight, Dubois managed to knock Joshua down four times, ultimately retaining his IBF heavyweight title with this victory. In accordance with protocol, the British Boxing Board of Control has enforced a mandatory medical suspension for Joshua following his knockout loss.
The Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports mandates such suspensions as standard procedure for fighters who experience knockout (KO) or technical knockout (TKO) defeats to ensure their health and safety.
