Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has approved the establishment of the Adamawa Digital Academy, the first of its kind in the state, to enhance digital skills among civil servants and youth. The initiative aligns with the state’s progress on its SABER project, which has reduced Right of Way charges to zero to attract telecommunications investment.
According to Ahmed Hammajam, Fintiri’s Special Adviser on ICT, the academy will operate through the Digital Bridge Institute in Yola. Hammajam emphasized that Adamawa aims to become one of Nigeria’s top ten digital economies by 2025, potentially reaching as high as the 5th or 3rd position.
In addition, Governor Fintiri has signed regulations establishing the Adamawa State Information Technology Development Agency, fostering a favorable environment for economic growth across various sectors.
