Social media has lit up with reactions following the Tribunal’s decision to remove Thaddeus Attah, the Labour Party lawmaker representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency. Recall that Attah had been declared the winner of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
His surprising victory had sparked conversations on social media, with many alleging that he had leveraged the LP’s influence to secure the position. The election result had also faced legal challenges from opposing parties.
In a recent ruling, the Tribunal in Ikeja, Lagos State, nullified Attah’s victory, citing the absence of elections in approximately 40 polling units within the LGA. The court has consequently directed INEC to organize a supplementary election in the 32 polling units of Eti-Osa within the next 90 days.
Reactions to this development have been mixed. While some individuals celebrated the potential for Banky W to secure victory in the election this time, others expressed suspicions that the decision may be part of a strategy to bring the APC into power.
