The Northern Nigeria Youths Union (NNYU) has pledged to deliver 2 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 General Elections, citing his commitment to infrastructure development in the North. The group’s Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Aliyu, made the announcement after a strategic meeting in Jos, Plateau State, attributing their support to Tinubu’s “unrelenting commitment” to national development, particularly the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano superhighway project.
The NNYU claims to have over 65,000 registered members across the 19 Northern states and insists that their mobilization efforts are driven by volunteerism and national pride. They plan to focus on registering more young people and ensuring they have valid voter cards before the elections.
In contrast, some reports suggest Northern politicians are searching for a candidate to challenge Tinubu in 2027, citing dissatisfaction with the current administration’s impact on the North. Potential candidates mentioned include Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal .
