Abuja, Nigeria – The Forum of Nigerian Professionals in Politics (FNPP) has expressed concerns over an alleged plot by certain political actors to destabilize President Bola Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement on Wednesday, FNPP claimed to have uncovered credible intelligence pointing to a coordinated effort aimed at infiltrating the presidency and spreading false narratives to create discord among key allies.
“The goal is to infiltrate the presidency with planted agents, spread false narratives, and erode the trust between President Tinubu and key allies, especially in regions critical to national cohesion and electoral stability,” FNPP’s National Coordinator, Chief Okey Ezenwa, stated.
The APC governors in the North West and South East, particularly Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna and Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo, were identified as primary targets. FNPP alleged that efforts are being made to separate them from the President to weaken their influence in consolidating support for his administration.
Ezenwa further highlighted Governor Uzodimma’s bipartisan efforts in the South East and Governor Sani’s role in maintaining religious harmony in Kaduna as key achievements that should be protected.
“We encourage Mr. President to continue with these beneficial relationships and not be distracted by voices that only seek to destroy,” FNPP advised.
The group urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against divisive tactics, emphasizing that national unity should take precedence over political interests.
